If you haven’t had a look at the original manuscript for Alice in Wonderland, you’re missing out. Lewis Carroll handwrote and illustrated the entire thing. I would absolutely love to have a copy of the original, the way he laid it out. The pages are all scanned in and you can look at them on the British Library’s website.

The first time I read Alice in Wonderland? Completely destroyed all previous thoughts of how happy-kiddie it was. It’s got this generous vision, that’s often baffling, incredibly scary, always exhilarating, and just so-so-so awe-inspiring. Mmm, I have made clicky that link up there. Carroll, you are AmazeBalls.
